Description
What are Perfume Oils?
Perfume oils differ from traditional alcohol-based perfumes in several key ways:
- Concentration: They are typically more concentrated than alcohol-based perfumes. They contain a higher percentage of fragrance extracts and are mixed with a carrier oil, such as jojoba, almond, or coconut oil, instead of alcohol. This lack of alcohol means they tend to evaporate more slowly than traditional perfumes, leading to a longer-lasting scent.
- Scent Profile: The absence of alcohol allows the scent of perfume oils to remain more consistent throughout the day. Alcohol can cause the top notes of a fragrance to dissipate quickly, altering the scent profile. In contrast, perfume oils maintain a more consistent fragrance as they don’t undergo such rapid evaporation.
- Application: Perfume oils are typically dabbed onto pulse points (like wrists, behind the ears, and on the neck), rather than sprayed.
- Skin Sensitivity: Alcohol can dry out the skin and cause irritation for some people, but oils are generally more gentle.
