Cotton Keepsake Doll

$68.00

These artisan dolls stole my heart! I love everything about them. I think they would make a perfect gift welcoming a new baby into the world, as a christening, or baby’s first Christmas.

While these dolls are not intended as a toy, they would be a beautiful addition to a nursery shelf, and to cherish as a keepsake.

Description

“A unique art doll inspired by a childhood memory. Do you remember the paper dolls we used to cut out and assemble? A few years back I was inspired to create a textile version of this doll- delicately assembled from various machine embroidered parts.” Emma Mierop, artist

Each doll’s head and shoulders are stitched in metallic gold, crimson red, and dark brown embroidery threads. She gets embroidered, turned, and hand stuffed with cotton- then is pressed flat and embellished with a hand smocked cloth skirt.

13″ tall

Today, Emma is quite active with her base of private customers, wholesale accounts (both international and national), participation in retail craft shows, and with online sales.
